Big Brother, Big Mouth

May 6th 2008 03:58
The reason I have not posted on Big Brother thus far is because there are loose ends that are still not tied up. However Ive decided to plunge on in and give you my review thus far.

Im really enjoying myself this time. They are TORTURING them......There is no gym. There is no swimming. The hot tub is decidedly tiny. The one massive bed they have to sleep in is a master stroke. Oh, this is the eradication of human rights to the supreme!

I adored the conveyer belt food. Oh, did you see their faces?! That is control. They have a kitchen now but the food source is being controlled ultimately and thats causing serious pack issues.

As usual, no Alpha female has emerged. You'd be forgiven for thinking it was Terri, and she sure thinks she is, but just about every female in there has appionted herself Alpha. The undisputed Alpha male at the moment is Saxon, and his threat display in front of Cory was interesting. Deliberately attacking the weakest, Travis, he tackled him playfully and threw him to the ground then proceeded to prance around with his chest out. Why did he need to do this? It was obvious he was trying to impress Cory but why? Does he consider Cory a 'threat' due to his celebrity or does he want him for a wing man? I guess thats a wait and see.

Just to get it out of the way, my personal thoughts on Cory. I think he's an alright kid. I think he was a scapegoat. I think he advertised his party on the myspace page just because it was easier than ringing or messaging a lot of people, and the volume of people was not the problem. The problem occured when this mass of people were evicted and had no where to take their drunken rancour. In Cory's own words - "The police told me to stay inside, so I did" But you can bet the second they heard the sound of broken glass outside they cuffed poor Cory, thinking "If we drag him out the others will settle down" When its obvious they didnt have the man power to deal with it. And it all gets laid on Cory when all he did was follow an order.

Thats just my opinion.

Lets talk about Travis. Who thinks he's putting on that voice? I do. There are times in conversation it breaks down utterly to a more male tone. There is a chance - a slim one - that he is in that category of boys whose voices break late and take their time. Im happy to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, on last night's 'Big Mouth' we got to see the footage of the hetero males sticking it to him, most notably Rory. I believe Travis is putting on the voice and the persona to 'Prove A Point' and the sorts of conversations he chooses prove this. I wont be at all surprised if on his eviction his real voice emerges and he talks about lessons in society.

Im enjoying the pack dynamic - its obvious Nobbi has already broken but he's one of those individuals who can break 100 times and still have more personality to go. Others have come close but for the most part masks are close to the skin.

Now for Big Mouth itself. First, MORE FOOTAGE!! I suppose that will be rectified in time. I love the panel, I love the housemates that have been chosen for it - Oh, Pauly, Ive missed you! I adore that any detractors of BB are being dealt with right there on the panel, and they are adressing the sex talk, boobies and all the stuff they got thrown off air for.

ITS BRILLIANT!

I never expected them to do so well or go so head on. Of course, Ten has revolutionised its mature content since the last BB adults only - since then we've had 'Californication' in the 930 slot and BB was NEVER so bad! Its like in the space we have been denied BB, Ten has been proving just how far Australia wants to go. Its almost like they are saying to Australia on the whole - So you like this one, but not that one? HYPOCRITES!!!

And its about bloody time. I'll try and update the pack behaviour regularly for you but at this early stage its fairly static. And of course, I have to rely on what BB wants to show me. But this is the human experiment at its best - this aint a holiday, or a luxury cruise, THIS IS BIG BROTHER!!!

I gotta say, I miss the animals.

Hi Kleo

I also wondered if Travis was putting on his voice and then I thought I was just being cynical...

This always happens, once I notice something about someone, it drives me nutty...and that's what's happening with Travis.

Yeah, Kyles starting to get comfortable now. I was excited when I heard he was going to be in on it - He'll make sure they suffer!

Ash,
Luckily not much pack behaviour going on, I think there might be a fight for Alpha male soon. Interesting last night when the whole pack united against Dixie because she's hiding food! Ive seen birds do what they did! All gathered around with bright eyes and threatening wing gestures "Where is the food Dixie?!"

Tracy,
I reakon, eviction night, he walks out on stage and says 'Hello' in his real voice. Betcha!

Hmm, I think you're right. It feels like an experiment where he's watching and testing reactions. Intriguing...
