CRF caretakers

My little Rowd has first stage renal failure, which is termed 'CRF' (chronic renal failure) it is a degenerative, progressive disease with no cure. However, we are very lucky that his kidneys are still in good shape, he has an appetite and drinks enough water to hydrate himself. The only treatment required is half a pill, once a day, to help him cleanse his system, and the special renal care diet designed to prevent toxins building up in his blood and help his kidneys do their work. Over the weekend I did a lot of research on the subject and joined a support group - CRF is far more common than I imagined - and the information from other CRF caretakers is extremely encouraging. A lot of them have gone ahead with treatment even when their cat was as advanced as stage 4, so we have a much easier job than them and a good possibility of giving Rowd his natural lifespan because of the early detection.
This is Rowd standing gaurd over his little human. I hope theres a long future in store for them.
