Dreams....After All

Close up mind's eye,
let me turn away so I can hide
I want it bad
but only until I wake
and reason reigns again.
Those images, so visceral,
I need them to mean nothing to me now,
the haunting happiness they leave behind
is only an echo of
irrelevant past,
when life has moved on
and future bekons
those dreams must become
merely dreams after all.
