Hey guys....Im tired and a bit rushed, had a job interview today...Fingers crossed! But I just had to share these with you....
Niah grips the hand of the Huntress for support as she faces off with Tawny....And Axis the StarMan sleeps through it all!
It never ceases to amaze me that the faces of kittens look like dandelions....When the eyes open, and individual cat character comes out, it is so much like a bed of flowers unfurling to the sun..
A kitten mess!
As you can tell....Ive named them. Thats just what I call them, I understand the new owners will have different ideas. Mother is named Zenith, as you know. The darkest grey daughter is Niah, and she will be staying with me....I know. Im nuts. I will then own four cats....Not counting Kmans cat and mums! The lighter grey daughter Ive been calling Azhure, the moon goddess and huntress. Mottled kitten is Tawny and the big ginger male is Axis the StarMan.
Today I found out some VERY good news. Pets paradise will take them at no charge to me. The only caviot is a vet check which Im sure they will pass, and availability of positions. If our nearest store is full, we can try the next one. But its a weight off my mind....Here I was ready to shell out for desexing every last one, and now I know they can go to Pets Paradise without me paying a cent. And they are garunteed no kill - if they dont sell, they are relocated and the price reduced until they do.
Now, I know as well as you do that I dont want these precious angels becoming part of the monster of consumerisim. Pets Paradise no doubt is for cats what the sale ring is to horses - a one way ticket into hell. A hell where there are good owners and bad owners and for the most part, insufficent care. But Im taking the mother, for good, she will be desexed and microchipped and given a collar with my phone number on it, the same with Niah. I have cared for her pre and post natal, and I think Ive done well for her. I cant beat myself up if worst comes to worst and they HAVE to go to a pet shop. At least there they have the chance to be well homed. And heres what I mean about hard decisions....Do I want to keep them all? Yes of course. Would I pay for desexing vaccinations and registrations utterly breaking myself for all of them. Yes, I would. The pain of losing the money would be brief and the love the cats gave me would be forever. But I cannot keep them all. I have to consider the animals I already have and that my attention is already stretched.
I do wish, that someone would show up and take the little Huntress. She is going to grow into a stunning cat, and a very magical familiar. She very much deserves one owner and to be made a princess. Why dont I take her? I have chosen Niah with her more docile personality as, quite frankly, we already have too many princess' around here!

It doesn't take long for them to be up and going does it, I've been through this a few times and always kept one for the mum, just as my mother before me had done.

I did not intend to keep a kitten. But I should have known, as soon as she chose the name Zenith, there would be a Niah.

It looks like people are getting interested now, so hopefully none will have to go to the dreaded pet shop! Cute doesnt even BEGIN to describe it any more....I was just out there, everytime mommy picks one up and puts it to bed another jumps out!

I am absolutely thrilled that the pet shop will take them (con~sumerism or not), with Christmas on the way they all have a chance at good homes with lots of prayers from us all to Saint Francis .. wonderful.
I think Niah suits you (and looks as though he has sought you out?).

Everyone picks the ginger kitty....I know, hes got personality plus and he looks different, but did you see the huntress' face?
Yes it looks like we have some homes (hopefully) on the horizon, one way or the other. If you melted at this wait for my new pics.....They are playing now!
They are starting to threaten their mothers health which is a problem, but we are fixing it. Glad you enjoyed Lilla...Stay tuned!

You are the only one to choose Tawny...She's got a great personality but she's not 'glamorous' like the others. I once kept all 3 of mine in a two room apartment on the northern beaches - they learned to walk on the harness and went out one by one everyday. And currently, with cat to room ratio, they live in the same space!
Tawny is so far the only one that looks like going to the pet shop....No pressure!

I dont know the size of your apartment so I really cant judge...But I know a single cat is happy in a small space, and they really dont have to go outside - mine never have. The only reason I dont mind Zenith out is because she was born out there!
You are the only one that picks Tawny as the cutest, I might have homes lined up but thats not certain, you can PM me if the temptation gets too much....Couldnt hurt to come and have a look? *Evil Grin*
