KNOW YOU EMPTY DEVILS

I dont mind being out and about,
how I wish -
It was on my terms
so much has been,
Ive made sure of that
but still so much
Left unexplored by me
unturned yet defiled.
Train clicks, clacks,
my mind says snap snap
Oh you empty devils!
You Zombies -
thoughtless, mindless
suggestions of human beings
What will you do? When he comes for you
What will you say? When he sees you
For if you do not believe in existance
your own is forfeit
and I hate you empty devils,
yet love your full souls.
Amoungst your empty eyes
I realize how alive I am
though I dream of death
and make love to cold
how I wish -

In 'Lisey's Story' King makes quite a few refrences to 'empty devils'. Its a concept taken from shakespeare - "Hell is empty and the devils are here" and its not something that can be explained thoroughly. Its a concept, a feeling. Im fascinated with it as I am with 'the long boy'. King has managed to personify certain things and so, I can get my head around them much better than before.
Theres nothing in me at the moment but pain and hope. I hope that all this has meaning - I pray that my vast and boundless energy is being sapped for a damn good reason, and soon it will all be in absolution. That the next level will be reached and they will prove me ultimately right and ultimately wrong at the same time.

I relate so frigging well to your poetry... I love the way you express your innermost thoughts so openly, and with such raw emotion.
