Updates and word spirals

May 10th 2010 01:32
Got a few word spirals I didnt get a chance to show you before..

Ive got a few more churned out since these...Im starting to use a little colour here and there, which is fun, but at the moment I started to use colour everything skewed off and I spent two hours sketching birds. Im quite good at birds but dont draw them often - Im not sure what my GOAL is in this sketching, so its a little hard. I just want to have fun and create something pleasing and interesting, however, Im not sure Im happy with it. I think the absinth is to blame - I plan to get rid of it tonight.

The holiday has been, thus far, magnificent. Ive worked the stallion, played with the other horses, and cooked every night. Ive availed myself of the simplest pleasures - sleeping, eating and dressing in comfortable clothes.

I'll share some more art soon.....

Recent Creations

May 4th 2010 03:41
When Im creating, it has to be original. I dont worry overly much in stories, because some things are tried and true and quite simply, have to be as they are. However, in poetry, or in sketching, its not good enough to do something common. The explanations and imagery in poetry must be spine tingling, the sketches something that makes you turn your head and go..."Um, What?"

Late last year I made aquiantance with the Green Fairy. I knew of Absinthe's reputation, but had never seriously considered trying it. I thought I might have trouble finding it, at least, in its pure form. I did a little research and found that 'Green Fairy Absinth' made in the czech republic is now the common brand. Made with distilled wormwood - the only alcohol made in this way - it utilizes the natural ingrediant of thujone to stimulate the brain and nervous system, instead of depressing it like regular alcohol. Absinthe originally gained a bad rap because it was yummy and soft and could be drunk for hours with very pleasing results. This caused a launch of bootleg brands made imperfectly, and hence, the insanity and death ensued. It was a long time before Absinthe could be sold again

More on characters and sketching.

January 12th 2009 02:11
Before the christmas holidays I whipped up some more of my wacky visual verbals, but I may have to split these into a few posts, and the 'v v's as I call them will have to come later. Very recently the lovely Cheryl did a post on the Varga girls, and I was so very inspired. See, the thing with the v vs is that they developed because I was sick of blank pages. I used to do character representations but feel bad because it was just them on a blank page. The Varga girls showed me you dont need props - the girls will do well enough.

Of course, Im no where near Varga's class, but maybe by the time Im 40, I might be. So we are going to roll back in time here, and Ive been searching my archives for some of my earlier works. Im a lazy artist, which you will see, and thats another reason I like the vvs - they hide my mistakes

Ok, so we have some ideas to discuss now. I suppose, you're looking at the sketches, and your reading the outline, and your going, yeah, cool, and? Whats the problem Kleo? Write that fucking book!

Sketching The Beast

October 21st 2008 01:37
The Beast first appeared in 'sketches' (I will relate posts at the bottom) as I was that inspired by her and her Conversations with The Devil that I decided to play around with her form. She's incredibly fun to draw - human and creature in one, she shapeshifts and moulds and that makes for really interesting drawing. Thus far, the most fun Ive had sketching has been with Akshasa, one of my dragon girls. The humans are difficult, they always have to look the same. Alexondra is tall, with an oval face and long limbs, but is a warrior, so her shoulders have to be broad and arms and legs strong and capable. Though she is beautiful, her strength is her defining feature and it must come out in the sketch. She is the one character to stretch across all 7 books of the series, so that makes her harder to draw. She can be found on the blog - I am going to check the 'sketch links' post and make sure she's linked up to it. I may even do a post just connecting the sketches from the story.

Andretta, Alexondra's daughter, is slightly easier to draw with her heart shaped face and black hair. She's shorter than her mum, more beautiful, and though she does some fighting in book 3 or 4 she is not primarily a warrior. She inherited her mums need to wander and her magical talent - The rest is all her...Fathers

Bound to become

July 10th 2008 04:14
For all are bound to be what they shall become....Yeah sure you think you understand and you look at yourself and say oh yeah, I know thyself ......HA! You goddamn fool can you imagine being in another shape than what you are?! Does not the shape of human feel like a cage a prison ugh the bones.....The bones that make up the cage the flesh that wraps around them and strangles the very spirit out of you ugh what a horrid shape it is this one....Wouldnt you rather be mammoth and created out of yourself by yourself and in the correct shape the true shape that is the universal shape the only shape of the universe and all the things in it....Think about it now...

are you listening
