Sweeter Ecstasy
August 25th 2010 02:00
Those party pills that tasted so sweet,
who could ever imagine,
that the magic of 3am
and never ending alcoholic syrup
could turn sour to the tongue.
Young ones, hungry for it,
they see us, shuffling in contented trackies,
preparing for along stretch of vegetation,
they cant wait to get out,
get away from our boring misery,
to sup at life's nectar
now so sweet
but soon to come
a taste so bitter,
on one's tongue.
Age does not prevent you,
maturity does not slow you,
(Oh, its not what you think)
one day you see,
all you went out to seek
is not in laser lights
and glowing sticks
or luminous drinks upon the bar,
its in your lovers arms,
in warmth and light,
love and contentment,
fulfilled, satiated,
at the fireside,
a different kind of ecstasy,
a much sweeter pill.
who could ever imagine,
that the magic of 3am
and never ending alcoholic syrup
could turn sour to the tongue.
Young ones, hungry for it,
they see us, shuffling in contented trackies,
