Takin off tha gloves...

Not that I wear gloves anyway.
Now, despite the sketches I HAVE put up, there are a few that I considered too controversial for the orble nuts. Here we go.
Now then. I dont believe that this pic needs an interpretation. I think people should be smart enough to geddit but just so we are totally clear....
This sketch is (quite obviously) about the muder of the sacred feminine. We have the serpent mother with her boobs out, a representation of our first pagan mother. I once read a magnificent book called 'Lady of Horses' and despite its very girly title, it was a wonderous romp through the beginning stages of human life. The tribe from which our heroine Sparrow came from treated women like property, and had them well covered up. When Sparrow meets up with her home tribe, the king of where she grew up says to the Queen of the other tribe - "But how do your men get any work done with these women walking around bare breasted?" He's utterly astounded. The Queen replies with a scoff and a snort - "What sort of men do you have that they cannot complete their tasks merely because a woman has her breasts bared?"
So, the parody here is the crucifix, worn as a necklace, something I always considered sacreligous, and we have the sacred feminine crucified upon it. I kindly chose ropes over nails. The witch, stereotyped as the church made her to paint her as evil....And the naked warrior with blood on her sword. Swallowed and eaten by the mans world.
Its is this slaughter that have caused women to raise their heads like hissing snakes, forgetting entirely to be women at all, thinking the only way to right this wrong is to be men in womens bodies.
Akrona, the angel of wrath and vengeance, appropriated from one of the cards in the Magic The Gathering deck. Apparently her story goes that a mans wife was killed, and through enchantment he created the angel in her image, only to have her break free from his control and decide to wreck havoc upon all.....Funny how that happens?
Archan. From the book 'DragonStorm' by Graham Edwards. The quote, about 'enjoying duty' is from Christopher Pike's 'The season of passage' and refers to if your duties are to be of an evil nature, and you cannot escape it, is it not better then to enjoy them? All things are needed in the balance, which I so often speak of, so instead of moaning about the horror of being trapped in such a situation and how you would really prefer to be good....Suck it up. Love it. Archan is capable of some of the worst acts of evil I have ever seen, hence her status as one of my all time favourite villians. I never forget her, as she does what she has to do, cleanly, without conciense, to succeed in her goals. By the time she is getting books of her own she has fallen victim to the folly of most villians - got to big for herself to the point that her blind spots were invisible to her. Its terrible when that happens, especially because in 'DragonStorm' she was so very careful to notice her own shortfalls and make up for them. By the time we get to 'Stone and Sea' she's mad on power. Her fate is a tragedy, but like all my favourite villians, she's utterly unkillable. Give her a few eons to think and she'll be back.
Ok, I wasnt going to throw this up, but Akasha and Archan are so alike. They just do what they have to do - you cant blame them for their actions, because it is quite simply, what has to be done. If Akasha showed up tomorrow, so long as Kman was one of the 'one in a hundred' that was to be saved, (and I could prove him to be worthy of it) Id be out burning churches. No stopping me. Her theology is perfect, her reasoning devine. No wonder Lestat refuses to make me a vampire. He doesnt want to have to go through that argument again.
Daemondra and Emerald. From Book Five. This is gonna be a love story down the lines of Antony and Cleopatra.....Poison is like Caeser a lot. But for all of that and the concepts it holds, you'll just have to wait and see.

The line in this post that gave me goose bumps was the line about men in women's bodies. Power statement!!!
I'm glad you decided to share these. I think the first pic is my favorite - but likely because of all it represents.
*hugs*

That quote comes from a recent battle on one of Ravens blogs - 'Remember SCUM' Im all for women empowerment as you know and can clearly see, yet there is a line that many women cross. They get so caught up in the equal rights that they forget men and women arent equal and arent supposed to be. Yes, in modern world, rights need to be equal for all sexes creeds races orientations.....But Men and Women are SUPPOSED to be different. When women act like men well....Im incredible masculine, (big work boots and muscles too!) but I hang on to my feminity (nice nails and girly clothes...With the big boots!) and I admit, I vomit on the line sometimes, but its important to recognize it and try and keep the 'balance' true.
And the post itself is a slash at a certain 'anonymous' that you had issues with when you were here.
I love the Dea and Emerald pic - all of those contain such passion! They only get to meet briefly, and he begs her to run away, leave the war entirely, but she refuses. I think Im failing on the other books because I just cant wait to get to book five!
