Kalikapsychosis - "Perfection is what its about. When you can feel, the perfection, of creation. The beauty of physics, the wonder of mathematics all the elation of action, and reaction, and that is the kind of perfection that I want to be connected to" - Sam, hooked into the data stream

The Masterpiece

October 21st 2008 02:59
Alright dudes, by popular demand, I am going to discuss the masterpiece that I allude to but never speak of. First off, Im going to link to posts that have masterpiece themed sketches, discuss, then Im going to put up something newer, if I can find it. Its been a long while since I did any active creating on it.

First of all, HISTORY.

Its on all your heads if someone rips off this idea now, got it?

Mid way through high school I was working on my most favoured novel. Those in production right now were started at roughly the same time, but this was always my favourite. I was fascinated by the idea I'd seen in a carebears movie - where the carebears have to come to our world to hunt down an exact look alike of their princess to save their world. I loved that scene, "Has anybody seen this girl?" And was looking to recreate it.

At the time, I was heavily submerged in Xena as she started to conquer the world. I created my character, The Princess Alexondra. Born to priviledge, she hears her parents arguing one night, and realizing her mother was a (now murdered) peasant woman and cult leader, she disappears from the castle to find the Rebels, who oppose the king, seeking to serve them in any manner she can. On arrival at the hideout, she gets into a fight and the entire force of the rebels is almost slaughtered under her never before unleashed power. The leader, Stag, calls her his Hind and the two seek to rule the rebels and eventually Goldenstone.

I was also working on a picture book that might turn into a kids book. I was just playing with it. A story of war - a good guy dragon has never been quite trustworthy enough. One day, he disappears, returning with a force of evil harpies and almost wiping out his homeland. The war is on. The four quaters of the world must unite against old hatreds, The Unicorns and the Dragons must somehow stop Poison from uniting the Harpies and the Serpents else their entire continent will be lost.

Somewhere along the line, I realized these two stories were the same story.

But Im not giving away anymore than that.

PICS!

Really Long Link

The first sketch shows Daemondra at work with Ixiss. Daemondra had no problem with her job - distract the army of dragons. Do not allow them to muster their force - until her great Commander ordered her into serpents territory. Poison seeks to control the most powerful sector of warriors through their Queen (WhiteScale) and their Prince, Ixiss. Effectively he is offering Daemondra as payment, but she doesnt know that. Man it gets messy when she finds out......
The second sketch is one of my favourites, Alexondra as the Hind, her first battle. The shackles finally thrown off, she is resplendant in her true nature.

Really Long Link

This picture shows Daemondra and Emerald. Emerald is a key player as his sister is Poison's consort, a betrayer. Emerald fights in the forefront of the army, so he is a target for Daemondra. To her dismay, she falls in love with him, and this heart rending sub plot sees two desperate lovers torn apart by war and circumstance.
This pic is also a decent size scale. The majority of dragons are roughly the size of humans - Only Poison, Areyamathea and the royal family are giants.

Really Long Link

These are the most recent sketches drawn in relation to the masterpiece. In the beginning of book two, Alexondra arrives home from her travels, magically and physically exhausted, she makes it to the Crystal Peaks. Little does she know, in the time she has been away, Aryamathea has reclaimed the Peaks and the skies, and collects her, taking her into the dragon palace to care for her until she wakes. Aryamathea loves Alexondra - you cant imagine how much. Alexondra is vital to the survival of Omecka (The planet herself) and Omecka is Aryamathea's mother. The other pic of Alexondra and Ellipsa is a play on scale.

Really Long Link

Another shot of Ixiss and Daemondra. In her stay at Alcordia court, she starts to realize Poison has abandoned her. The only hope to save herself is to rally the Prince and have the army march out and her with it. But the serpents are notoriously hard to organize, and she begins to despair. It is the first stirrings in her womb - and the fear that Ixiss is the father - along with the kidnapping of the human princess Isha that spur her to escape. Not to mention the blood of the line of power singing in her viens....That gets louder and louder as her mother and grandmother return to the great continent.
The second shot is Alexondra and her friend Weapon. She meets Weapon in her first travels, and only much later calls him to aid her in the battle against Poison.

Really Long Link

I was toying with book 6 and 7 when I invented Kalista. Its all there in this link and the next one, the why of her. I mean, after Poison, the biggest baddest daddy of all badasses (Think Caeser but nastier) what could possibly threaten them now? Kalista was no hard task. We have Daemondra and Ixiss, Daemondra and Poison - his scale shots are getting a bit out of whack but you get the drift - and more Weapon.
Ooo, Id just like to mention that 'Maharetta' from 'Themed Sketches'
Really Long Link

Is in this post, as well as a quick drawing of the character I nicked my name from. She is in the family tree of the royal family of Goldenstone, but has no story written. Yet.

finally,

Really Long Link

The first pic here is Alexondra before she becomes the Hind, good for comparison. Some work arounds and the same ones again.

New stuff which is really old stuff...

Yolane, the scourge of book 5. The seductress who constantly tries to usurp the position of Daemondra.

I have actually written a scene for this - at the same time Alexondra is in the air with Serene, the Unicorn Queen, Daemondra is flying with Poison, and the two feel each other.

The love story, to finish off.
