The visual verbals
January 12th 2009 02:28
This is an example of what happens when I really want to draw but just cant motivate myself to actually create an image. This is not a v v - it is VERBAL but it is not VISUAL. If you are wondering, yes, it does say something but I doubt anyone could ever read it, because I sure cant! The tip to creating something that looks totally insane? Turn the page and change your handwriting every five or so words. Instant insanity.
Welcome back Beast! I am planning a work that shows her as utterly human and as utterly beast, at the moment Im always playing with the half and half. To find out more about the beast, please visit category 'Conversations'.
The Sacrifice is a recurring theme for me, and Im not sure why. Im planning a post devoted solely to the sacrifice images because there are a lot of them. This one bugged me for ages, and I couldnt figure why...Until I realized, it has no VERBAL!!
The crowning achievement in v vs so far. This took two days to complete. I hate stretching things over more than one day - if I dont finish something in the first sitting it doesnt usually get finished at all and theres one sitting there right now that is perfect proof of that. Quotes in this v v are from 'Blood Canticle by Anne Rice as well as my own words. Careful looking at this one too long - it can give you severe nausea, like a messed up wheres wally. I recieved great praise from one of my mates on this one. Im very proud of it, notice in particular the little centaur - my knowledge of horse anatomy gave her perfectly correct feet! I also particularly like the dragon's flame sneaking around. Im working very hard lately on details such as hands as they have challenged me for years. This one might be a bit easier to read than the others as well.
Im going to try some more dragons soon - Areyamathea is greatly popular with all of you.
